Featured image 'Hexagon' (2020)
There's something satisfying about a pattern that almost behaves itself. Hexagon started with geometry — a grid of six-sided shapes, arranged with quiet regularity. But pure order turned out to be the wrong direction. The moment I introduced some irregularity, the composition came alive.
What fills each shape is what makes this piece personal: individual hexagons are filled with fragments of my own previous works, turning Hexagon into a kind of archive — a mosaic of earlier images compressed into a new one. Piecing it together was slow, careful work. The result is still one of my favourites.
